Dupe alert. MUA matte perfect primer vs Benefit Porefessional.

Evening!
So had a first today. I think you’ll all be very shocked and proud of my achievement, I went into boots today and bought
Wait for it
Nothing! Nada. Zilch. Diddly squat.
I for one am most shocked but realise its one day at a time at the moment.

Anyhoo! You’re here for all things bright and beautiful.
Not only have I got that for you, its on budget. *little bit of wee came out*

Its a revelation to all you beauts watching the pennies this christmas.

I conducted a head to head between the heavyweight of make up ‘Benefit’ vs the plucky new kid on the block ‘MUA’.

I tested their primers using benefit on one side and MUA on the other. I went shopping with my Nan and Aunt and had a full face on for nearly 7 hours.

You may be wondering do I really need a primer?
I’ve only started using them myself in the last year to be truthful. The aim of a primer is to enhance the length of time your make up lasts. They improve the base on which you place your cosmetics and are imperative when trying to achieve a matte style finish.

So heres the products down low

As always, lets do the looks.
Porefessional nails the presentation here. The minty blue packaging instantly screams Benefit and the twist cap makes it easy to control how much you would like to use. It is also larger in size then the MUA version.
The MUA primer also has a twist cap which rocks but the packaging lacks punch. Its plain white and black but I’m not too bothered as this is a product you’d use in the comfort of your own home.

DING! First round goes to Benefit.

Onwards and upwards, lets talk product.

MUA is the product on the left. It is slightly peachier in colour but dries clear. Don’t ask me how, it just does. It feels absolutely beautiful. Really silky and like satin on your skin. It applied really easily and the tinge in the colour helped even everything out. You do need to use slightly more product than porefessional but not heaps more.

Porefessional is deffo more skin toned and feels like it dries quicker. Its like silk to touch and it has a perfumed fragrance I really enjoyed. It feels lighter on the skin than the MUA contender.

DING! This ones too close to tell. Its a draw.

So we’ve talked packaging and product but Im sure you all wanna know which ones better.
Well heres my face with both primers on.

I can’t tell the difference and to be frank if I hadn’t wrote it down I would’ve forgot.
The MUA is on my left.
They are both primarily silicone based and I’m pleased to report both covered my pores really well.
I applied my make up as normal and my aunt and Nan couldn’t see if one side looked better than the other.
In my opinion both controlled oil and shine and my make up lasted all day. Including carrying numerous bags on behalf of the matriarch that is ‘Nanny Lily’ (she doesn’t hold her own luggage #justsayin)

I really couldn’t say one outperformed the other in this round however MUA has a significantly smaller price tag.

Heres a little pic of my boat after the whole day. My spots are just starting to show through, but after 6 and a bit hours I’d expect to apply some powder and touch up my face.

All in all I am happy to say that due to being over a score cheaper that MUA has taken the title here.
The quality of the overall product is too close to call and there isn’t a huge difference in results. Both are very good products and do what they say on the tin.

But like I said you can’t argue with the sums.

MUA you are my winner.

Loves ya Bye!
