Supercat Soap and Glory liquid eyeliner review.

Hands up who’s eyeliner story has gone from Avril lavigne to call the midwife feline flicks? 👋🏾

If you’re anything like me eyeliner is the thing that makes you look alive in the mornings and sultry at night depending on the look.

I’ve had so many eyeliners but they all have their little gripes.
Pencils are easy but require sharpening.
Gels look awesome but are messy and fiddly.
Pens are easy and awesome, winning! However, I find they dry out too quickly rendering them useless.
Ugh, its a minefield.
So I’m on a mission to find the perfect liquid eyeliner over the next couple of weeks.
The requirements I’ll be asking the liners to meet will be
Colour– Jet black only.
Ease– life’s hard enough without your eyeliner acting like a digbert.
Smudgeproof– I want it on and I want it to stay on.
Price– the cheaper the better.
So lets kick things off with

So I know it’s technically not one of my requirements but I have to give S&G big ups here, the packaging is adorable. With their quaint vintage packaging it screams sexy siren. The actual eyeliner itself is plain black with pink bold typography. So although not necessary it is rather beautiful.
So lets talk colour. I want my eyeliner to look as black as my soul. I’m happy to report that it really is jet black. It dries into a velvet finish and also dries quickly. Amazing tick in the box. They boldly display Carbon Black on the side of the packaging and I’m pleased to say they deliver.
Ease– being a felt tip liner it is rather comfortable to hold in your hand. There’s no abnormal angles or fiddling with a separate pot. Its firm nib means that you can create thin or thick lines with little effort. A steady hand is still required but thats the same with all liquid liners but less so with Supercat. It really is the easiest liquid liner I own.

Smudgeproof–
So this is where Supercat falls down slightly. Worn on its own, I find that I find little black crescent moons on my eye socket. Such a shame as this could have been Purrrfect (ya geddit? No? Okay then, awks). The flick at the end looks a little less defined and a bit basic.
However, when worn with eyeshadow or base I found this had serious staying power. It can last all day without touch ups.

Price– So with beauty brands offering products from as little as a pound this is a medium range price. However, if you calculate price per use, well I’ve been wearing it nearly 4x a week so it’s practically paid for itself.

As you can see from the images it’s easy to achieve a screen siren look.
In order to keep your liner moist (ugh, hate that word) lay Supercat down horizontally not upright to prevent it drying out.

I hope you found this review helpful let me know what you think in the comments too

Benefit They’re real liner, review lowdown!

Yo!

Me again, bringing another product review of the beautiful ‘Benefit’.

So if you’re not already aware Elle magazine have provided a sample size of the Benefit They’re real liner and I was like a woman possessed in the petrol station trying to get my grubby mitts on a copy.

First things first, I gotta give ‘big ups’ to Elle.
They have put this eye liner in with their magazine, when the whole issue was focusing on feminism.
Now not only do I love the fact that they are giving away a sample that women actually want, but knowing this, they’ve in my opinion put it with a copy surrounding the important and relevant topic of feminism.
Now the reason I think this is clever, is because they know women will buy that issue purely for the liner (I did) but seeing as I had the magazine I perused it in my onesie with a brew.
I am already a believer in feminism, however I do feel that a lot of women I meet
A) don’t think Feminism is relevant to them
B) think its outdated
C) means they can’t be ‘girly’ or that they must hate men.

All of the above are incorrect and I’ll leave it up to Elle, to explain why as they have done so brilliantly in this months copy.

So well done Elle on introducing perhaps thousands of women to the newest wave of feminism, I am sure you have opened a lot of minds with this copy.

Its only £4 guys, go get it. You’ll enjoy the read and there’s the liner too. #bargain

Which is why you’re here now right? So lets get cracking.

Benefit, what are YOU sayin’?

It’s the FIRST EVER lash-hugging gel liner in a pen! This matte black gel formula won’t smudge, budge or dry out, and the innovative soft AccuFlex™ Tip hugs your lashline from corner to corner. The closer the line, the bigger the eye!

• 91% said it was longwearing**
• 81% said it was waterproof**
• 88% said it hugged the lashline**
• 84% said eyes looked visibly larger**

So as always, Benefit surpass themselves with presentation. Sleek and attractive the pen instantly says high end not high street when you produce it in the ladies loo of your local nightclub.
There is a little orange tip when you first open the product. Chuck it away and marvel at the ergonomic design that fits into your finger tips like a fountain pen would.
Simply twist the base and the product appears from the tip.
Speaking of tips, the accuflex tip is a stroke of genius. The tip is an almost spongy but still strong nib where the formula appears from.
Its strength enables you to draw smooth and straight lines easily and quickly even with the shakiest of hands.

Its important that once you’ve released the formula that you wipe the excess off somewhere, onto the back of your hand for example.

Now taking the pen, follow your lash line out from the inner corner towards the outer corner, hugging the lash line as you go.
Now my first eye didn’t go so great. I wasn’t sure how it would behave and it looked a bit faded.
I was mega disappointed.
However, persistent (some say stubborn) I moved to my other lid and got firm.
This isn’t your normal liquid liner. You don’t have to treat it kindly and buy it dinner first. Pull your lid taut and show it you mean business. Apply slight pressure and draw. Hug the lash line and sit back.

Now I have never ever managed to get a liquid liner to look that neat on a first attempt.
There was no need to touch up with a make up wipe. There was no waiting around for it to dry. As soon as it was on, it stayed on. For 12 hours!
This liner stayed put as if it was waiting for free one direction tickets.
It stayed clean, it was crisp and the outcome looked identical to liquid eyeliner but with the consistency of gel.

My eyes took me no more than two minutes to do today and that is something I love.

I literally have no faults with this product.
It only budged with my cleansing water after being exposed to the elements all day.

IMG_3036.JPG

t was so easy once you knew how to apply it.
The colour was perfect and the thickness just right.

Heres what it looked like at the start

And at the end (it was midnight when I got home which is why the lightings poor, Soz.)

IMG_3050.JPG

Now it is pricy to go buy new but if you love winged eye liner than you need to invest. Like right now. It will last a long time so long as you always put the lid back on after using it.

Would I use it again? Ja! Would I but it? Deffo.

Cannot fault it, well done Benefit and well done Elle.

Top buy, go get your free sample now.

Thank me later
